After the installation of MIDAS

That's it folks, to be on the safe side you should now backup the complete MIDAS system on tape:

$ SET DEF MID_DISK:['MIDASHOME'.95NOV .SYSTEM.VMS]
$ @ MIDSAVE

To reduce the total size of disk space used by MIDAS you could execute the option 8 - Clean MIDAS of the CONFIGMIDAS procedure:

$ SET DEF MID_INSTALL
$ @ CONFIGMIDAS
select: 8 (clean MIDAS)

by selecting this you will get another menu:

               MIDAS DELETE MENU:
        ==============================
        1 - Delete source files.
        2 - Delete source files and libraries.
        3 - Delete documentation.
        4 - Delete executable files.
        5 - Purge all files.
        q - Quit.

      Select:

All selections will ask you for confirmation. Option 4 will remove all executable files created in the installation of MIDAS, therefore think twice before choosing it. Options 1 and 2 delete sources but they are not needed once the installation is finished (libraries are not necessary unless you want to use them to link your own applications with MIDAS).
