Introduction

The Data Display Tool is a collection of libraries and tools for the transfer, display and manipulation of data coming from instrument and telescope detectors. The DDT is a product that is being developed in the scope of an outsourcing contract by the company CGI. The IFW v5 is packing a snapshot of the actual version.

We have enhanced several graphical capabilities in the DDT Viewer since the last version. However, due to some contractual constraints, we are unable to provide the updated documentation within this version.

Delivery Scope

  • ESO maintains a parallel version of DDT with the porting to Fedora. This version is not officially supported by CGI.

  • Some sections of the user manual shall be ignored or they are not valid:
    • Ignore paragraph 3.2 about the installation under CentOS7. DDT is provided as a RPM package for DevEnv 4.8.0.

    • Logs of the DDT are saved under the home account running the applications.

    • To lauch the python version of the DDT reference viewer application, you can just execute pyDdtViewer.
