Celým tímto působivým širokoúhlým snímkem oblohy se táhne temný pás kosmického prachu ozařovaný mladými, nedávno zrozenými hvězdami. Jedná se o hustý oblak ležící v oblasti s probíhající tvorbou hvězd, která nese katalogové označení Lupus 3. Z kolabující hmoty tvořené plynem a prachem se zde tvoří mimořádně horké hvězdy. Snímek vznikl ze záběrů, které pořídily dalekohledy ESO/VST a MPG/ESO na observatoři La Silla v Chile. Jedná se o dosud nejdetailnější fotografii této oblasti oblohy.
