The Sampo project was advised by two scientific oversight bodies:
- FAAG, representing the Finnish astronomical community and its interests
- SAC, representing the ESO Faculty and its interests
Please note that these bodies are no longer active following the conclusion of the Sampo project in early 2008.

FAAG - Finnish Astronomical Advisory Group
