VLT Instrumentation Control Software - Relevant Documents

The general information and rules for Instrumentation Software projects are contained in the Instrumentation Software Specification document, which defines also the Control Software documentation to be produced by consortia.

Notes

1. It is recommended to read the documents in the same order as listed. A list of recommended categories of readers is associated to each document.
2. Some documents should appear in the list of applicable documents in the Statement of Work for Instrumentation. They are flagged with asow.
3. Some documents are rather old and therefore may contain (partly) obsolete information. They are flagged with obsol.
4. In order to overcome the problem of obsolete information present in some documents, readers are invited to cross-check and discuss with the respective ESO contact person the contents of the documents. 
5. Consortia are also recommended to discuss and agree with the ESO contact person a reasonable path towards the major milestones, e.g. consisting of intermediate check-points, where drafts of the foreseen documentation are sent to him/her and informally reviewed. This approach will possibly avoid the discovery of major misunterstandings at PDR/FDR/PAE only.
6. The source file (usually in Word format) of template documents can be retrieved running from any computer having a cmm account:
