The Astrophysical Virtual Observatory (AVO) enabled the AVO science team, led by Paolo Padovani, (seen in this image) to discover some of the hidden objects in our Universe, Type-2 quasars and their associated black holes. The AVO project was led by the European Southern Observatory (ESO).
