X-SHOOTER Handling Tool
The instruments attached to the telescopes sometimes have to be removed, for instance when the main mirror is taken out for re-coating. A set of special handling tools is available to hold the instruments. X-SHOOTER's handling tool is visible in the back below X-SHOOTER attached to UT2 in March 2009.
