  • Mirror recoating
    November 20, 2010: The main mirror (M1) of UT1 is recoated.
  • Merger
    April 1, 2009: FORS2 from now on has the polarization optics and the high throughput filters from FORS1
    January - March 2009: Various dismountings and remountings of FORS2 for tests, which usually affect the wavelengths of the spectroscopic modes

    December 15, 2005: The UT1 main mirror (M1) has been recoated.
  • FORS2 moved to UT1-Antu
    June 1, 2004: FORS2 has been moved from UT4-Yepun to UT1-Antu. First TEST data after telescope change have been obtained on June 5, 2004.
  • Mirror recoating
    October 8, 2003: The UT4 main mirror (M1) has been recoated.

  • New CCD mounted
    March 22, 2002: FORS2 has been upgraded with a new red/IR-optimized MIT mosaic CCD. First observations with the new detector have been obtained on April 1, 2002.
  • FORS2 moved to UT4-Yepun
    May 2001: FORS2 has been moved from UT2-Kueyen to UT4-Yepun. First data after telescope change have been obtained on June 5, 2001.
