Tento překrásný snímek zachycuje jednu z nejbohatších známých otevřených hvězdokup M 11, která je rovněž známa pod označením NGC 6705 nebo také jako hvězdokupa Divoká kachna (Wild Duck Cluster). Záběr byl pořízen dalekohledem MPG/ESO s primárním zrcadlem o průměru 2,2 m, který je vybaven kamerou WFI (Wide Field Imager) a pracuje na observatoři La Silla v Chile.
