GENERAL INFORMATION


These pages contain information about CRIRES Quality Control parameters and trending plots.

CRIRES calibration data are pipeline-processed to create calibration products. The quality of the products is measured by QC1 parameters. All QC1 parameters are measured on calibration products using the pipeline and are stored in a database. Their evolution with time is evaluated by the trending process. All currently available trending plots can be accessed here or via the links above.

 

INSTRUMENT PROPERTIES TRENDED


The following properties of CRIRES instrument components are trended:

detector
  • dark current and read-out noise
  • detector non-linearity

spectrograph

  • stability of wavelength solution
  • positioning of pre-disperser and grating
  • stability of blaze function (flat-fields)

lamps

  • stability of halogen lamp (flat-fields)

overall performance

  • system throughput and efficiency
  • image quality in science frames (until September 2011)
