This plot

This is the Health Check plot for the stability of the GIRAFFE flat field calibration lamps. The plot is based on ROBOTIC flats (flattype=ROB) taken several times a week. There are two lamps, one on each plate. Since June 2006, they are measured for all five slit systems. Before that date, they have been taken for Medusa1 and Medusa2 only.

The average flux is obtained by dividing the average signal in the first raw file by the EXPTIME. Any effect showing up in only one fibre system is likely to be caused by that fibre system. Effects related to the lamp(s) should be visible in the associated fibre systems simultaneously (i.e. plate 1: Medusa1+IFU1; plate 2: Medusa2+IFU2+Argus).

Note that the opslog files do not contain the flux parameter, but instead QC.LAMP.EFFIC. This is a new QC parameter. To be included in this HC report would mean to loose the HISTORY (all plots before 2008), so it has been decided to drop the opslog entries.

General information

Click on any of the plots to see a close-up version. The latest date is indicated on top of the plot, data points belonging to that date are specially marked.

If configured,

  • statistical averages are indicated by a solid line, and thresholds by broken lines
  • outliers are marked by a red asterisk. They are defined as data points outside the threshold lines
  • "aliens" (= data points outside the plot Y limits) are marked by a red arrow ( or )
  • you can download the data for each parameter set if the 'Data downloads' link shows up
