This plot

The gain is derived from a set of paired flat fields with identical exposure time, using the Photon Transfer Curve (PTC) method. Since 2013-08-01, flats covering the full dynamic range are taken into account, also flats already in the non-linear regime, for which the PTC is not corrected for. A smaller slope in the PTC results in higher gain values. For more information see the plot tutorial page.
