Venus Transit 2004 - the Video Contest Laureates

After a very long and lively discussion, the international Jury of the VT-2004 Video Contest of professionals from the arts, the media and the sciences has selected 10 laureate videos from the many entries received. Here they are in alphabetical order:

Congratulations to all of them! The laureates will now be contacted by the VT-2004 organisers.

The laureate videos will be shown during the VT-2004 Final Event - known as the the Venus Transit Experience , to take place during the European Science Week (the second week of November 2004) in Paris (France). The laureate videos will be made available to the media. Two members of each laureate team will be invited to this Final Event, during which the Jury will award the top prizes.

The first prize is a free trip for two to the ESO Paranal Observatory located in the Chilean Andes, one of the foremost astronomical centres in the world and the home of the Very Large Telescope (VLT).

A second and a third prize will also be awarded by the Jury during the Final Event.

We take this opportunity to thank all who sent their video to this international contest. Many of the videos were of a remarkable quality and the Jury had a difficult job!
