  • Decommissioning

    April 1, 2009: FORS1 is decommissioned after 10 years of operations.
    January - March 2009: dismounting and remounting of FORS1 for tests which usually affect the spectroscopic wavelengths

    May 17, 2008: The UT2 main mirror (M1) has been recoated.
  • Mirror cleaning

    October 9, 2007: The UT2 main mirror (M1) has been cleaned with CO2.

    September 26, 2007: FORS1 is taken down for maintenance
  • New CCDs

    March 28, 2007: FORS1 received two new UV/blue optimized CCDs and new filters.
  • Mirror recoating

    March 2, 2007: The UT2 main mirror (M1) has been recoated.
  • Commissioning of new CCD

    January 26, 2007 to February 3, 2007: first commissioning of new CCD mosaic

    December 1, 2006: The UT2 main mirror (M1) has been recoated.
  • FORS1 maintenance

    January 27, 2006: FORS1 dismounted to correct problem with loose fiber in field-of-view
  • Mirror recoating

    June 2005: The UT2 main mirror (M1) has been recoated
  • FORS1 moved to UT2-Kueyen

    June 2004: FORS1 has been moved from UT1-Antu to UT2-Kueyen at the beginning of June 2004. First data after telescope change have been obtained on June 6th.

    April 1, 2004: The UT1 main mirror (M1) has been recoated.
  • FORS1 moved to UT1-Antu

    October 19, 2002: FORS1 has been moved from UT3-Melipal to UT1-Antu. First data after telescope change have been obtained on October 22nd.
  • FORS1 moved to UT3-Melipal

    July 2001: FORS1 has been moved from UT1-Antu to UT3-Melipal. First data after telescope change have been obtained in August.
  • Mirror recoating

    March 2001: The UT1 main mirror (M1) has been recoated.
  • Mirror recoating

    February/March 2000: The UT1 main mirror (M1) has been recoated.
