MIDI (The MID-infrared Instrument for the VLT Interferometer) is a long-baseline direct interferometrer in the mid-infrared (N band : 8 to 13 microns). MIDI is the first instrument to allow observations with large apertures and hectometric baselines at such wavelengths. MIDI is part of the VLTI complex . The Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI) consists of the coherent combination of the four VLT Unit Telescopes and of several movable 1.8m Auxiliary Telescopes.

This section of the Quality Control and Data Flow Operations web pages covers the MIDI data.

All Service Mode data from MIDI pass Data Flow Operations Garching. For P77, raw data and pre-processed data from MIDI will be distributed as Service Mode packages. The level of processing of the data will depend of the availability of a pipeline.

More information on the MIDI instrument, especially all technical aspects, can be found on the MIDI instrument web pages. The current MIDI User's Manual which includes MIDI information is available here.
