Coding Standards for MIDAS

This chapter describes the minimum set of coding and documentation standards for MIDAS application software , and includes conventions for file names and directory structures.   Code must fulfill this set of requirements in order to be included in MIDAS. Standards are identical for UNIX and VAX/VMS systems.

The general directory structure and conventions for file names are described in the first section. The minimum set of rules for MIDAS software is given in the next section. In the last section the requirements for general documentation are discussed.
