A few recent Talks

Here are some of the recent talks I gave over the last few years, illustrating a few of the topics I am interested in or working on.

Advanced Data Products - 2024

ADP2024

I gave this talk as the introductory keynote speech at the ALMA Advanced Data Products. It is a bit long (1h presentation) but bare with me: I think this touches on many interesting and exciting topics that we should consider when thinking about the next developments.

ISM Summer School - 2025

Banyuls2025

A course I gave with a perspective on simulations a the 2025 Summer School in Banyuls. This was a bit of an experiment, to show how our minds may bias the way we conduct research and the way we report on it.

Marstrand (Sweden) - 2025

Marstrand2025

A talk I gave about how bars influences the evolution of disks, and how such processes have an imprint on both the morphology and dynamics of galaxies.

Ramses Users Meeting - 2025

RUM2025

A report, quite similar to the Marstrand 2025 talk, but a bit limited in time. Bars, bars, bars, in the context of the Ramses Users meeting, where, obviously, I gave a bit more details about the simulations themselves.

ORIGINS Science Week - 2023

ORIGINS2023

A reporting talk on what happened with ORIGINS and the RU-D (Planets/Stars/Galaxies) Research Unit. ORIGINS is a cluster of Excellence joining efforts from LMU, TUM, MPE, MPA, USM and ESO. A follow-up programme has been approved for the years 2026 - 2032.

Ringberg Meeting on galaxy evolution - 2024

Ringberg2024

A talk I gave at the galaxy evolution meeting at Ringberg (Bavaria) emphasising results from the PHANGS project and team.

MPE - 2025

MPE2025

Very similar to the talk in Marstrand. On bars and simulations, and what we learn on the impact on galaxy evolution.

ESO- Poland Meeting 2024

Poland2024

A talk about instrumentation that I gave jointly with Antoine Merand, VLTI Programme Scientist at ESO.

Timescales 2022

AbuDhabi2022

A talk on Timescales and galaxies given in the context of a "Timescales" conferences gathering experts on a broad set of domains.
