This is the trending report for FLAMES/UVES QC parameters derived for wavelength calibration. It covers the minimum wavelength of the solution and is based on MOS data taken with the RED UPPER CCD in setting 580nm, 7+1FIB, with Plate 1.
Changes of a few nm usually occur because of changes in the last detected line, which often happens when the position of the orders changes slightly (see Grating Position trending). Changes of tens-hundreds of nm are usually due to the pipeline failing to locate entire orders.
These data are taken daily as part of the Daily Health Checks.
Note: only Fibre 4 is considered in the score for this report.
The individual plots describe:

  • Fibre 1: the minimum wavelength of the solution.
    Note that in contrast to fibres 2-8 which are illuminated by the robotic fibre projector fed by a Thorium-Argon lamp, fibre 1 is illuminated by the simultaneous calibration wavelength calibration lamp.
  • Fibres 2-8: the minimum wavelength of the solution.

Note there is NO monitoring for fibre 9, used in the 8FIB modes.
