Java GUI Tester
A GUI tester is a test driver which replays a certain test involving a GUI in a repeatable manner. It works in a so-called capture/replay
The results from the capture are usually stored in a "script", often in some proprietary format, which is then reenacted by the tool.
The tool usually takes track of position, size and features of any graphical element in a GUI, and allows the tester to express the desired comparison between expected and obtain value in each of these aspects.
The tool in use at ESO works only for Java applications, and is called qftestJUI, from a German software house.
We have two floating licenses available. At least one should be used for the dedicated nightly builds though.
