Quality Control and Data Flow Operations

 [ AMBER Home ]

AMBER (The near-infrared/red focal instrument of the VLTI) operates in the bands J, H, and, K (ie 1.0 to 2.4 microns). The instrument has been designed to be used with two or three beams, thus enabling also the use of closure phase techniques. AMBER is part of the VLTI complex . The Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI) consists of the coherent combination of the four VLT Unit Telescopes and of several movable 1.8m Auxiliary Telescopes.

This section of the Quality Control and Data Flow Operations web pages covers the AMBER data.

All Service Mode data from AMBER pass Data Flow Operations Garching. Raw data and pre-processed data from AMBER are distributed as Service Mode packages. The level of processing of the data depends of the availability of a pipeline.

More information on the AMBER instrument, especially all technical aspects, can be found on the AMBER instrument web pages. The current AMBER User's Manual which includes AMBER information is available here.
