This plot

Trending plot for resolution (resolving power R) derived from MOS arc lamp measurements.

Only arc lamp measurements taken to calibrate MOS science observations are used; exposures with the standard star masks are disregarded. Only measurements with slit_width_dis=1.0 are plotted.

Resolution is measured at the blue and the red end, and at the centre of the spectral range. The "cent" plots only show the latter; they include scoring. The "full" plots also show the results at the blue and red ends; these are not scored.

For LR_blue, the resolution at the blue and red ends is usually not well determined; therefore only the central value is plotted.

For MR, there is a similar issue at the blue end for masks with multiplexing: spectra from slits which are at the same x position can overlap and the pipeline then reports R=0 for the resolving power at the blue end.

Template ID: mos_cal_Arc (daytime), mos_cal_NightCalib (attached night-time). Pipeline recipe: vmspcaldisp.

General information

Click on any of the plots to see a close-up version.

The latest date is indicated on top of the plot.

If configured,

  • data points belonging to the latest date are specially marked
  • statistical averages are indicated by a solid line, and thresholds by broken lines
  • outliers are marked by a red asterisk. They are defined as data points outside the threshold lines
  • "aliens" (= data points outside the plot Y limits) are marked by a red arrow ( or )
  • you can download the data for each parameter set if the 'Data downloads' link shows up
