This plot

Trending plot for rms of dispersion solution from MOS arc lamp measurements.

Valid dispersion solutions are those with rms < 1 pixel. However, outliers are observed regularly. Reasons may be:
- an imperfectly inserted mask
- a wrong first guess model in the header
- multiplexing of the slits in the MOS mask.
Some of these problems can be resolved by fine-tuning pipeline parameters which is regularly done by QC Garching.

Only arc lamp measurements taken to calibrate MOS science observations are used; exposures with the standard star masks are disregarded. Arc lamp measurements should be taken according to the science settings used during the night.
