Startrails seen from Paranal Observatory
Night at Paranal Observatory, on top of the Cerro Paranal, Chile. Long-exposure photography allows to capture the apparent motion of stars, in this case, in the Southern hemisphere, leaving glittering trails known as Star trails. A shooting star, as the one in the image, may suddenly appear, photobombing the otherwise circular paths.
