A lonely ALMA antenna

This antenna is one of 66 that make up the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA). These antennas measure up to 12 metres in diameter and collect light at millimetre and sub millimetre wavelengths. ALMA is the most powerful telescope in the world for observing the cool and distant Universe; it studies the building blocks of stars, planetary systems, galaxies and life itself.
