Plants in the Desert
A typical plant found around the ALMA site. In Nototriche holosericea leaves are undulated and cerebriform; the surface available for gas exchanges exposed to the wind is manyfold. A white indumentum protects the leaf from transpiration and UV radiation. This picture was obtained in August 2004.
