La Silla radio antenna
This image shows the Installation of a 2-metre-diameter radio antenna on the La Silla weather tower. A matching antenna at Cerro Tololo receives the La Silla-Quest (LSQ) southern hemisphere variability survey image data — a survey to detect certain kinds of supernovae, variable stars, and other unusual objects — and transmits it to Yale over a high-speed internet link with the USA.
