Snow comes to Chajnantor
The muted grey colours of this Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array radio telescope compliment the wintry scene captured in this spectacular shot from the Chajnantor plateau, which features a light dusting of snow across the rugged Chilean landscape.
Despite being one of the driest places on Earth, the Atacama Desert occasionally witnesses snowfall.
