This is a close view on the dome of one of the Auxiliary Telescopes (ATs) at the VLT. The size of the mirror of the AT is 1.8m. Another AT is visible in the back next to the dome of one of the larger 8.2m unit telescopes (UT) of the VLT. Both the UTs and the ATs can be combined for interferometric observations.
