Auxiliaries and bigger brother
The 1.8-m Auxiliary Telescopes (ATs) at ESO's Very Large Telescope in Chile are smaller than their companions, the Unit Telescopes (UTs), both seen here. What they lack in size, however, they more than make up for in their ingenious interferometry system.
