En ny bild från ESO:s La Silla-observatorium i Chile visar den ljusstarka stjärnhopen Messier 7. Den kan lätt ses med blotta ögat i närheten av svansen på stjärnbilden Skorpionen, och är en av de tydligast framträdande öppna stjärnhoparna på stjärnhimlen. Detta gör den till ett viktigt forskningsobjekt för astronomer.
