Reduced scale simulation of near-ground seeing

It would obviously be of great advantage for the layout planning and the general design of an astronomical observatory to be able to perform reduced scale simulations in wind tunnels, including the direct measurements of thermal turbulence and seeing parameters.

The purpose of the present section is to analyze the possibilities offered by wind tunnel testing of the surface layer turbulence with respect to the seeing issue and to determine the similarity rules which may allow the measurement of seeing parameters on reduced scale models.
