Observing Support Services
Several teams provide support in regard to ESO's telescopes and instruments, e.g. support for observing proposal preparation and submission, observation scheduling, data flow operation, information service, maintain instrumentation manuals.
At ESO Garching
User Support Department (USD)
is responsible for assisting users during the observing proposal preparation processes (Phase I and Phase II). The USD also maintains the Service Mode status reports, and provides assistance to Science Operations Teams on the mountains.
