General news: NOTE: The Health Check and calChecker services are moved to qcFlow on an instrument by instrument basis. The current pages will not be updated any longer once the move has been finished.
The links to KMOS, UVES, and ESPRESSO have been moved to a new section (qcFlow operational) at the lower part of the navigation bar.

- general comment On 2016-04-18 lamp FlatBlue+4 was disabled and removed; Only lamp FlatBlue+3 has been used since then.
- general comment On 2015-03-02 exposure times for spectroscopic flats with FlatBlue+4 have been doubled; thresholds were therefore decreased by 50%.
- general comment On 2010-02-11 exposure times for spectroscopic flats with FlatBlue+4 have been reduced by 20%; thresholds were therefore increased by 25%.

This plot

This parameter is determined from an overscan-subtracted calibration lamp exposure in LSS mode (taken with the template FORS2_lss_tec_flatLampcheck). The total signal is integrated and normalized by the exposure time and the total number of original CCD pixels (keeping into account possible binning). More information can be found in the plot tutorial. The setup of the lamp check is G300V, GG435 and 1arcsec slit.

  • FFB34 Monitoring the lamp flux of the two high brightness blue halogen lamps FlatBlue+3 and FlatBlue+4. These lamps are used to generate spectroscopic flats in blue (G300V, G600B) spectroscopic setups.

NOTE: On April 18, 2016 the FlatBlue+4 lamp was disabled and later taken out of the instrument's calibration unit. Since then, only FlatBlue+3 lamp is used for spectroscopic flats.
On November 15, 2016 the sub-plots relevant to the FlatBlue+4 lamp were removed.

General information

Click on any of the plots to see a close-up version.

The latest date is indicated on top of the plot.

If configured,

  • data points belonging to the latest date are specially marked
  • statistical averages are indicated by a solid line, and thresholds by broken lines
  • outliers are marked by a red asterisk. They are defined as data points outside the threshold lines
  • "aliens" (= data points outside the plot Y limits) are marked by a red arrow ( or )
  • you can download the data for each parameter set if the 'Data downloads' link shows up
