A close-up still image of the computer simulation for the proposed OWL (OverWhelmingly Large) Telescope. A giant, next generation optical and near-infrared telescope, with a diameter of 100 metres, OWL would combine the amazing light-gathering ability with resolution down to a milli-arc second.
