Wonders of winter; wonder of the sky

A few of the antenna of the Atacama Large Millimetre/submillimeter Array (ALMA) stand among a winter wonderland in their home of the Chajnantor Plateau. ALMA is not only among wonders of the ground, but also wonders of the sky. It peers into cold, hidden places of the Universe, witnessing everything from the birth of baby stars to the formation of new planets.
