["A sunny winter afternoon for the transit at Penwortham (33° 55' S 138° 38' E), so a group of us got to see the first ~2.5 hours of transit before the Sun set. Several telescopes, filters, welding glass, eclipse shades etc were used successfully. Including our re-enactment of Horrocks & Crabtree in 1639 - a cheap refractor stopped down to 30 mm, with Barlow lens & Huygens eyepiece, projecting an image onto paper. The closest we could get to a typical early 17th century telescope."]
