Bibiana joined ESO in 2025 as a Fellow in Garching. She received her PhD from Lund University in 2025, focusing on high-resolution transmission spectroscopy of gas giant exoplanets. Previously, she completed an ESO Studentship in Santiago (2023–2024) and her MSc thesis work at ETH Zürich. A key scientific highlight of her work is the detection of titanium oxide and chemical inhomogeneity in the atmosphere of the ultra-hot Jupiter WASP‑189 b.

Scientific interests:

  • Exoplanet atmospheres
  • High-resolution spectroscopy
  • Linking atmospheres and formation
  • Gas giant exoplanets

Matthew joined ESO as an ERC Postdoctoral Researcher in the WANDA group in 2025 after receiving a PhD at Maynooth University, Ireland (2025) on the topic "Outflows from young stars: Investigating angular momentum removal with Integral Field Spectroscopy". Matthew’s research involves IFS data and high-resolution spectroscopy, primarily in the optical and NIR, and focuses on how the constituent components of protostellar outflows are interconnected and how angular momentum is extracted from early star/disc systems.

Scientific interests:

  • Young Stellar Objects
  • Protostellar Outflows (Jets and Winds)
  • Outflow-disc interactions
