What's new or upgraded in MIDAS 10SEP.1?
All important enhancements and new developments can be found in the file /midas/10SEPpl1.1/prim/help/news.alq and displayed in Midas via the command
Midas> help [News]
or click on the [News] topic in the Help graphical user interface.
Here we list the most important ones:
INDISK/FITS
Add option NAME=INPUT to param. 'out_spec' for using input file names with relevant Midas file types as result names. See the help for details.COPY/T3IMA
New command to extract 1-dim array column entries of 3-D tables. See the help for details.PLOT/SELECTED
Add second color option to command.See the help for details.CREATE/TABLE, CREATE/COLUMN, ...
Enforce correct size of column labels (max. 16 including the ':') in the table commands (they are internally truncated). Using oversized column labels had apparently worked in old Linux system, like e.g. Scientific Linux 4.3, but are causing problems in newer distributions. Check your Midas code...COPY/IMT3
New command to copy images to 1-dim array column entries of 3-D tables. See the help for details.Lyman context
This context had problems in Midas releases after 04SEPpl1.0 - that is now fixed and e.g. Midas> fit/lyman should work well again.inmidas
Add option -clean to the inmidas command. This will get rid of all temporary and intermediate files created in previous Midas sessions in the $MID_WORK directory (usually ~/midwork) before starting the new Midas session.
