Encontrado primeiro planeta em torno de uma gémea solar pertencente a um enxame estelar
15 de Janeiro de 2014: Os astrónomos utilizaram o detector de planetas HARPS do ESO, no Chile, assim como outros telescópios, para descobrir três planetas em torno de estrelas pertencentes ao enxame estelar aberto Messier 67. Embora mais de um milhar de planetas fora do Sistema Solar seja já conhecido, apenas alguns foram descobertos em enxames estelares. Curiosamente, um destes novos exoplanetas orbita uma estrela rara. Trata-se duma gémea solar - uma estrela que é, em todos os aspectos, praticamente idêntica ao Sol.
