It can be reached by ferry (about 1 hour ride), connecting the harbours of Piombino (mainland) to Portoferraio (island), with multiple rides per day. If you plan to stay at the Conference Hotel, At the time of booking your accomodation, you may ask them if they have any special fare for the island ferries, as sometimes they secure in advance of the summer season special rates directly with the ferries’ companies. 

Piombino harbour (on the mainland) can be reached by train (ferrovie italiane or use your own country train portal) or by bus. If you land in one of the closest international airports (Pisa, Florence, Rome), please check their websites for transportation solutions to Piombino (Pisa, being the closest to Piombino, is the best connected). 

During the summer months, some european airports may offer direct (charter) flights to the small airport on the island (NAME), on specific days of the week. To find out more about these connections, we recommend you to check the destinations offered from the Elba island airport, at the start of the spring/summer 2026 season.
