The submission of the Phase 2 package for approved Director's Discretionary Time (DDT) Proposals must follow the same procedure as regular programmes, described in the Instructions for Phase 2 preparation of Service Mode runs.

The following important points must be taken into account when preparing the Phase 2 package for a DDT proposal:

  • The deadline for Phase 2 submission of a DDT proposal is four weeks after the notification of the allocation of time. A late submission beyond this date will result in a decrease of priority like for regular proposals (i.e., class A to class B; class B to class C; and class C to cancelled).
  • The P2PP version and service mode procedures for the current period must be used. Please note that the webpages giving instructions for the download of the P2PP tool and for the preparation of the Phase 2 are immediately updated for the upcoming semester as soon as the time allocation announcement is issued. When this happens, the corresponding webpages for the current semester are however still accessible from those updated webpages.
Please be reminded that, according to the current ESO policy on DDT proposals , the Principal Investigators of approved DDT proposals must submit a report on the results obtained within one month of the delivery of the data by ESO to the Visiting Astronomers Department.
