Cluster Deep Field - FORS Observations

FORS Observations of the Cluster Deep Field (MS1008-12)

FORS was used in Standard Resolution (SR) imaging mode (pixel size= 0.2",fov=6.8'x6.8').

Two 11 magnitude stars are present in the northern part of the FORSfield on MS1008. In order to avoid excessive bleeding and scattered light,the FORS MOS mechanism was used in occulting mode, with two occulting barson each side of the field designed to mask out the two bright stars ateach position of the dithering pattern (10" step in both RA and DEC).

Observations were carried out in the B,V,R,I FORSBessel Filters (see also TransmissionCurves )during January 1999.
