FORS1 MOS Data Reduction

Extracted Spectra


The MOS observations were reduced within the MIDAS package,using commands of the LONG and MOS contexts. For each object the available 2-D spectra were stacked and thenan optimal extraction was carried out.

Tables 3 and 4 give the photometric information and the redshift (whenit has been possible to estimate it) for the objectsobserved in the AXAF deep field and HDF-S, respectively. For theHDF-S a color image of each object, derived from the EIS Deep Survey,can be visualized by clicking on the ID entry. The field of view is0.5'x0.5', except in the cases of ANON17 and ANON03 for which the fieldside is 1/2 and 2/3, respectively.
For AXAF the corresponding dataproducts are available only to persons affiliated with an institute of oneof the ESO member states and Chile.

It should be noted thatthe EIS combined images of AXAF have a significantly worse PSF in the I band than in the R. The compute the R-I color of the objects in theAXAF field an empirical aperture correction has been applied.
Magnitudes and colors listed in Tables 3 and 4 are in the AB system.
