ALMA Description and Concepts

ALMA will be operated at two different sites: the Operations Support Facility (OSF) at an altitude of about 2900 metres and the Array Operations Site (AOS), located at 5000 metres altitude. More information on these sites can be found under Site Information.

The System Overview pages contain details about the main ALMA system components: Antennas, Front End, and Back End and Correlator.
