| EFOSC2 Technical Reports |
|
Below follows the reports on technical tests performed with EFOSC2. These reports are typically based on laboratory measurements, daytime measurements at the telescope as well as on data obtained during test and reserved nights at the telescope and other data provided by observers.
This `report' is probably of interest only to those of you more technically inclined. The report is actually a series of plots, images and results which are the result of an automatic testing procedure.
Discusses the sensitivity of the new CCD with the various filters and grisms
and the evolution of the sensitivity with time. Discusses flat-fielding,
measures the instrument flexure, discusses pointing and offsetting of the
telescope, measures the bias level and dark current, examines the slit
profile of the movable slit, and calculates the focus offsets between the
various filters.
Updated August 20, 1996
Discusses the performance of the new CCD installed during July. This
is an important report for those wishing to observe with EFOSC2.
Discusses filter and grism efficiencies, and the effect of mirror re-aliminisation on the overall efficiency of the telescope.
Includes grism and filter efficiencies, filter focus offsets and discusses alignment.
