TCS Catalogues
At the MPG/ESO-2.20m telescope TCS catalogues are required for presetting
the telescope to FEROS targets. Each cataloge is a simple Unix ASCII file
with one target per record. The format for each record is very simple:
<String><ws><hhmmss[.sss]><ws><[±]ddmmss[.sss]><ws><yyyy[.yy]>[<ws><pma><ws><pmd>[<ws><Comments>]where <xxx> means required, [xxx] means optional and <ws> means whitespace (e.g. spaces or tabs...). Comments are (currently) completely ignored by the TCS panel. Here are some example valid catalogue entries:
abc 123456 -654321 2000The name of the catalogue file should be of the format <ProgramId>.cat, e.g. 70.D-1234A.cat
def 102030.567 -302010.234 2002.5 0.1 0.2
ghijk 111111.1 222222.2 1950 0. 0. V=12
A number of catalogues are supplied by default and are listed below:
- SpectroPhotometric Standards catalogue.
