Flatfields for the mid infrared: Experiments with TIMMI2

Before applying the flatfield correction

Ideally the source flux should be identical at the upper and lower position of the detector. In the middle the registered counts should be twice than the absolute values at the upper and lower position.

However, in fact we have:

                         Original TIMMI image.

             Photometry at upper position. Uncorrected.

             Photometry at central position. Uncorrected.

             Photometry at lower position. Uncorrected.

After applying the flatfield correction

Following the approach for a flatfield correction we now get:

                         Corrected TIMMI image.

             Photometry at upper position. Corrected.

             Photometry at central position. Corrected.

             Photometry at lower position. Corrected.
