The User Support Department would like to once again thank all Principal Investigators and their Phase 2 delegates who took part in the 2025 online Paranal Service Mode User Satisfaction Survey. A total of 101 responses were received in this targeted campaign. As in past years, we have followed up by e-mail with respondents who provided detailed comments and identified themselves. A summary report based on the latest survey is now available.
Results of the 2025 Paranal Service Mode User Satisfaction Survey

This year, we saw an increase in the number of users who made use of the Phase 2 API: 12.3% of respondents in this year’s survey, compared to 5–6% in previous years. Several users also highlighted their satisfaction with the Phase 2 API in the free-text comments. On the other hand, some users reported that it can be difficult to find the relevant information on the run status pages. We will investigate how to improve the presentation of run progress information.
