Preliminary agenda of the APEX Large Projects meeting

    September 6, 2007

The APEX telescope is operated by a consortium consisting of the MPIfR/MPG, ESO and Onsala, which receive 45%, 24% and 21% of the observing time, respectively, while 10% of the time is used by the host nation, Chile.Considering that there is a lot of interest in the community to execute large programs with APEX, the APEX Board thought it beneficial to have a short workshop for interested parties. This workshop will be held during the afternoon of 6 September, immediately after the "Surveys for ALMA" workshop. In the "APEX Large Projects" workshop, the telescope and the available instruments will be presented. All instruments of APEX can be used in Large Programs, but we anticipate particular interest in the two new bolometer cameras, LABOCA and APEX-SZ.
13:30 - 15:00 Presentations of the APEX instruments TBD
    15:00 - 15:30 Coffee break
    15:30 - 17:30 Breakout sessions per subject
