Instructions for travelling to the workshop venues

Carl von Siemens Foundation

Address: Südliches Schlossrondell 23, 80638 München (in the last yellow cavalier house on the left before the side wing of Nymphenburg Palace).

Tram lines 12, 16, and 17—the last two also run directly from the main train station—go to Romanplatz. From there, it's about a 600-meter walk along Romanstraße to Südliches Schlossrondell 23. From Laim S-Bahn station, you can take buses 51 and 151 to Romanplatz.

By car, please turn onto the southern driveway toward Nymphenburg Palace. This path leads directly to the palace and seamlessly merges into the southern palace roundabout (one-way street). Please note: Like all palace residents, the foundation does not have its own parking spaces.

ESO

Address: Karl-Schwarzschild-Str. 2, 85748 Garching bei München

We advise all participants to travel with the underground train (U-Bahn), line U6. Take the underground train (U-Bahn) line U6, with destination "Garching Forschungszentrum" (Garching Research Campus) - this is the last stop on the line. Exit the station at the rear end of the train, go up the stairs towards the street, straight on for about 500 meters (see also this map). On your left you will find ESO with the gradual gangway to the main reception desk after entering ESO premises. 

Weather

Munich weather in December is usually cold, with temperatures around freezing and occasional snow or rain. Warm winter clothing is recommended. For more information, see Weather Online.
